"Ice Age" is a wonderful film for children of all ages-- I know that sounds corny but I mean it, seriously!  The story is about 3 prehistoric animals that basically go on a road trip to return a human baby to it's family.  This weird "herd" consists of a Sloth (Leguizamo), a Mammoth (Romano), and a Saber Tooth Tiger (Leary).  The Sloth is pretty much just an annoying loser, the Mammoth is a moody loner (much like "Shrek"-- but he mellows after a while), and the Tiger is cunning, sarcastic,  and a little mean (typical Leary comedy I guess-- but hey-- no cigarettes!).  The Sloth and Mammouth plan to return the baby but the Tiger has other plans in mind-- his pack wants the child as revenge for all of their pack members that were killed by the humans' parents.  Will the Tiger double cross the Sloth and Monmouth or will they become friends as a result of their adventure through the dangerous artic lands?  See the movie to find out!

I also want to mention the Squirrel-- he's on the movie poster.  This little guy apparently wasn't supposed to be in the movie-- just the trailer.  People liked him so much that they added him later.  He doesn't have any lines but he's constantly trying to bury his acorn throughout the movie.  I thought it was totally funny and I don't think the movie would have been the same without him-- and I just happen to love squirrels.

Anyway, "Ice Age" is a movie you can definitely take your kids to.  There are exactly 2 potty jokes in the film and they really weren't that offensive at all.  Plus the other jokes in the film were actually funny.  I mean, any movie that can cause both myself and my 5 year old nephew to laugh out loud multiple times is a winner in my book.

      Billy Ray ( 3 1/2 out of 4 pops )

Computer animated films are just excellent, and to quote Forrest Gump--"That's all I have to say about that."  In the tradition of great films like "Toy Story", "Antz", "Shrek", and "Monsters, Inc.", the film "Ice Age" is hilarious and entertaining.  They had to create a special category at the Oscars for animated films this year because--if they didn't--"Shrek" would have probably been nominated for Best Picture.  "Ice Age" might deserve the Best Animated Feature Film award next year.  Ray Romano has the perfect character voice, as does Denis Leary--and we all know what a voice John Leguizamo has.  This was friggin' funny and that's the bottom line.  This is a film for kids and adults--all will laugh and all will leave satisfied.
